Project Engineer - Fuel Cell Technology

UTC Power is a proven, single-source provider of clean power solutions. As one of the newest members of the United Technologies Corp. family, UTC Power is able to draw on the expertise of some of the more established divisions, including the industry leaders in fuel cell technology and building heating, cooling and control systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the development of DOE's Fuel cell Techology program. Interaction and effective communication with stack suppliers, UTRC, DOE, engineering functional groups and UTC Power(`9s management are essential for success on the project.

Key tasks include:
(a2Preparing and executing a detailed project plan for the development program, including outside development efforts at stack suppliers and UTRC that meets budget, schedule and technical requirements
(a2Leading the development team through the system design and stack testing
(a2Leading technical reviews at DOE and UTC Power
(a2Coordinating cost sharing with team members
(a2Coordinating the development of a scalable stack with two different stack suppliers
(a2Managing an annual ~$19M development budget and work breakdown structure, reporting earned value monthly, reviewing contract progress quarterly with suppliers and DOE, and maintaining manpower loading and project percent complete in Microsoft Project
(a2Coordinate the development test and technology effort with UTRC or other entities as required


BS in Engineering

Individual must possess strong leadership, communication, team building and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in project management, including leadership of cross-functional teams is required.

Minimum of 5 years experience in technology insertion and product development.

General knowledge of fuel cell powerplant systems and cell stacks.


Some travel is required.
