SHFCA Membership Continues to Grow
SHFCA continues its drive to increase its membership, targeting a total membership of 75 by March 2008 by drawing from Scottish local authorities, the offshore sector and industrial gas manufacturers.
SHFCA welcomes 3 new members, taking total membership up to 46 organisations. Air Products, MTU Fuel Cells and Whittaker Engineering have all joined the Association in the past week. Please click on logos in side strip on our homepage to learn more.
SHFCA would also like to announce the forming of a new overarching public/private body under the chairmanship of SHFCA to devise a road map and strategy for the fuel cell and hydrogen industry in Scotland. The body involves both the Scottish Government and industrial players such as Scottish and Southern Energy. This group will begin work in late November.
SHFCA can also now confirm the moving of its headquarters to the Hydrogen Office in Fife in mid-208 and in the interim are taking temporary accommodation in Kinross, near Perth.
A major study is about to be commissioned looking at the role of hydrogen in Scotland’s energy infrastructure up to 2050. In the event that no new nuclear power stations are built in Scotland, this may represent a major development opportunity for hydrogen and fuel cells.
