CELLYTE Technology

Typically float currents are reduced by 50% in cells with a VRLA Catalyst fitted. Adding a VRLA Catalyst to the cell prevents some of the oxygen reaching the negative plate and thus allows the negative plate to stay polarised. This means that less current needs to be supplied to the cell from the charging system, manifesting itself as lower float current, leading to the following benefits.

  • Maintain FULL cell capacity by preventing depolarization of the negative plate.
  • REDUCE float current by up to 50%.
  • REDUCE gassing rate by up to 80%.
  • MINIMISE water loss from the cell.
  • REDUCES cell failure due to dry out
  • EXTENDS battery life due to reduced plate corrosion.
  • Batteries will have FULL design life when used at temperatures up to 30C.

The revolutionary VRLA Catalyst changes the electrochemical actions within the cell, extends battery life and the operating temperature range of VRLA batteries, Catalysts have many other advantages:

  • Reduces cell heating reducing the possibility of thermal runaway.
  • Massive energy savings from reduced float current and cell cooling requirements.
