Maarssen, 1st November 2007 - The Dutch directorate of the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management – Rijkswaterstaat – has granted the consortium NedStack fuel cell technology BV and HyGear BV, both from Arnhem, the Netherlands, a € 440.000,00 order, in order to develop and produce a universal PEM fuel cell power generator with integrated bio-ethanol reformer. Minister Eurlings of Transport, Public Works and Water Management handed over the symbolic cashier’s check to Mrs. Margien Storm van Leeuwen, Sales and Marketing Manager of NedStack BV. during the event “Dag van Maarssen”.
The power generator, ranging from 8 to 35 kW peak power, will be multi-purpose for all kind of situations where back-up and or autonomous power is required. Application areas are a.o. powering road works, utility works, back-up systems, and for powering special events.
The generator is deliverable including bio-ethanol reformer or as stand-alone hydrogen operated unit. This provides optimal flexibility to the customer. NedStack and HyGear will build the so called Uniflex in close cooperation with their Dutch strategic partners Bredenoord Aggregaten BV (Apeldoorn), Exendis BV (Ede), Air Products (Rotterdam). Pilot to be concluded end 2009.
Rijkswaterstaat’s objective with this financial injection is to reduce hazardous gas emissions (e.g. CO2), fine dust and noise at its building and maintenance responsibilities of the Dutch transport, public works and water infrastructure. |
