SOFTWARE EMBEDDED SYSTEM DESIGNER

Status: Professional Exempt

SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be assigned as a member of a team responsible for designing/integrating an embedded system to control the functionality of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC). Must have working knowledge and skills in the following areas: Cygwin; eCos - open source runtime system (RTOS); system level integration of software; Ability to translate product requirements into product designs; effectively interpret and convey technical information, leveraging other resources as required to complete projects; effectively prioritizes and manage workload.

Minimum Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent in a related field
• 7+ years experience developing software
• Experience with C, C++ and assembly programming
• Software simulation tools and design environment.
• Experience with emulator/simulator
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work and solve problems independently
• Knowledge of TI DSP and digital filter design
• Microsoft Windows programming a plus
• LabVIEW programming a plus
• Knowledge of software project life cycle phases

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Modification and Integration of existing embedded control software to scale up existing system
• Microcontroller firmware development
• Work closely with hardware engineer to design, develop and debug system
