SUMMARY:
To be an integral part of our solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) development team. Provide technical expertise relating to SOFC interconnect/current collection development and manufacture including material and application process development.
Work will include testing and evaluation of commercially available interconnect/current collection materials, developing new materials, and designing and tailoring application processes for our specific solid oxide fuel cell application.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review and evaluate commercially available interconnect/current collection materials
- Develop new interconnect/current collection materials for our specific application at low cost
- Design and develop processes to apply the interconnect/current collection on the SOFCs
- Provides technical support and expertise in SOFC interconnect/current collection related support to our SOFC development
- Characterize and evaluate interconnect/current collection in terms of microstructure, performance, thermo-mechanical and chemical stabilities and compatibility
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- Four probe electrical conductivity measurement
- Thermal/cyclic oxidation of metal/alloy
- Experiences with thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), (differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dilatometry, SEM are desirable
- MS in Metallurgy or Ceramics with 4+ year’s related industrial experience, or
- MS required, PhD high desirable with SOFC interconnect/current collection materials development experience.
