MTI Micro Ready for Commercialization Process

MTI MicroFuel Cells is ready to engage with consumer electronics companies to commercialize the Mobion® power source for handheld consumer electronics applications. The Mobion® power source is designed to increase run time (time until a recharge is needed) two to ten times over the status quo of existing battery technologies. For the first time, wireless and other electronic hand held devices will be "truly wireless", capable of going anywhere, anytime with no need to be tethered to the wall-plug waiting for a recharge.

With our power sources consumers can continuously operate their devices on the go with our easy-to-use, long lasting energy cartridges. The graphic above shows some options of prototypes and/or concepts developed by the Company to demonstrate technology advancements and form factors for future products ranging from an external power source all the way to embedded micro fuel cell solutions.

MTI Micro's strategy is to enter the market with products for use in the consumer electronics industry for applications like cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players and other handheld electronic devices. At the same time, the company is exploring possibilities of adapting its power source for use in the military market for applications like sensors.

Mobion® power packs are based on direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) technology which has been recognized as enabling technology for advanced portable power sources by the scientific community and industry analysts.
