Technical Staffing Professionals has been engaged to help the company find and hire a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to lead fuel cell systems development for portable power applications. The Engineer will work closely with the Director of Mechanical and Systems Engineering. The ideal candidate will possess expert level experience in developing integrated electrical, thermal, fluidic and mechanical systems for low volume production. A background in developing fluid and mechanical systems in the medical industry would be ideal in this position. We're not looking for just a software engineer; we want to find someone that is CHARGED about playing a major role in new product development and a passion for success in fuel cell applications. The Engineer will work closely with the Director of Mechanical and Systems Engineering. The ideal candidate will possess expert level experience in developing integrated electrical, thermal, fluidic and mechanical systems for low volume production. A background in developing fluid and mechanical systems in the medical industry would be ideal in this position.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Defining testing and design of portable product fluidic systems
  • Maturing of mid-TRL level products to low volume production
  • Program management and coordination of multi-disciplinary development teams
  • Writing and preparation of proposals and work plans
  • Interfacing with component suppliers and teaming partners
  • Mentoring junior engineers in design and testing tasks

Requirements include the following:

  • B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering, M.S. a plus.
  • 10 to 15+ years of engineering experience in multi-disciplinary product and technology development is required.
  • Specific experience in the design, development, operation and test of fluidic systems is required.
  • Design of seals, miniature pumps or valves is a plus. Medical equipment design is ideal.
  • CAD experience required - SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Start-up or early stage company experience is desired.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is require.

As a Senior Engineer, the successful candidate will be comfortable in a hands-on experimental environment, a resourceful problem solver, a team-player with excellent interaction skills, and capable of rapidly integrating observations and results into new designs. This position requires the ability to complete multiple tasks effectively, prioritize work, and manage work to specifications, schedules and budgets in a results-oriented environment.
