Designed to provide clean, reliable extended run backup power for critical telecommunication, utility and UPS applications, the IdaTech ElectraGen™ XTi fuel cell system eliminates the need for on-site hydrogen storage. Based on IdaTech’s proven fuel reforming capabilities, the ElectraGen™ XTi system provides power for any critical application.
Battery-based and hydrogen-fueled solutions are appropriate for backup times lasting only a few hours. Due to size, weight, and siting issues associated with industrial bottled hydrogen, an alternative solution is required when several hours or days of backup power is needed for critical and remote power. The IdaTech ElectraGen™ XTi system provides reliable backup power using a significantly more compact liquid fuel, HydroPlus, a mixture of methanol and water. Using HydroPlus, the ElectraGen™ XTi system enables startup with no downtime as it generates hydrogen on-site to produce power as needed. Particularly appropriate for remote locations, the ElectraGen™ XTi system provides seamless power, ease of maintenance and a straightforward design.
The ElectraGen™ XTi system integrates two of IdaTech’s proven technologies into one compact solution. Housed in a certified enclosure, the system combines IdaTech’s patented fuel reformer, the fuel cell module and fuel tank for a turn-key solution for wireless or wireline telecommunications, utilities and government communications.
