Methanol Fuelled & Efficient Stationary Battery Charger for Remote Applications |
|
Background
There are a number of remote transmission equipment and devices around the world that require either recharging or refuelling to provide continuous or backup power. The frequency of this process and the associated maintenance increases costs and logistics. IdaTech’s 250W iGEN™ fuel cell battery charger uses a sustainable fuel (methanol) in an environmentally friendly manner (no NOx or SOx emission) to provide a reliable back-up power source which reduces the frequency of refuelling and removes considerable maintenance time while guarantying high availability.
Advantages:
- Lightweight/compact
- Quiet operation
- Quick start
- Near zero maintenance
- Battery charging/battery extension/grid back-up
- Nominal power – 250W continuous
- Nominal voltage – 12 VDC & 24 VCD; other voltages available with custom engineering
- Uses a mixture of water and methanol to produce 250W of clean, quiet DC or AC current
- Power is continuously generated as long as fuel is supplied
- Enables extended power generation for outdoor applications
