The HyPM fuel cell systems from Hydrogenics are distinguished especially by the completely integrated, compact design and the large power output range. The modules can be electrically connected to form larger units than the maximum module output of 16 kW. With special adaptation, the systems are optimized both for mobile (HD series) and stationary applications (XR series).
The simple electric, gas and mechanical connections make HyPM fuel cell systems suitable for numerous applications. Additional components, such as a system controller, cooler, CAN interface module and voltage converter are available as application-specific supplements for system integration.

The water-cooled system, which operates with hydrogen and atmospheric oxygen, is monitored and controlled by the integrated diagnosis and control unit. The HyPM XR series was designed for the special requirements of stationary power supply. The innovative design of this system made it possible to eliminate complex components, therefore increasing efficiency and reliability. The modular 19" design facilitates integration and high scalability.

The Integration of the Fuel Cell Systems

Integration Kit
The integration kit contains the basic components for operation of the HyPM fuel cell systems: startup power supply, cooling circuit incl. cooler and cooling fan, load relay, reverse current diode, hydrogen sensor and all necessary electrical and mechanical connections.

Power Electronics
A specific power electronics module is needed for connection of the HyPM fuel cell systems to the respective electric consumers, depending on the application.Depending on the power output and model of the HyPM fuel cell system, we offer DC converters at four different voltage levels from 12 V to 100 V. With an inverter, both 120 V and 240 V AC components can be supplied.Please contact us for more details!
Master System Controller with Visualization
The integration of the fuel cell system and other components in an overall system makes a master system controller absolutely necessary. Communication with the HyPM fuel cell system takes place via the CAN bus interface. Operating parameters can be set and read via an external computer or an optional integrated display.
