Due to the latest low pressure metal-hydride storages from HBank Technology Inc., it has become possible to absorb hydrogen fuel directly from hydrogen generators, which are powered by any renewable energy source. In the future, mankind will be able to create clean fuel himself by running one closed “water-hydrogen-water” cycle, and the driving force will come from infinite renewable energy sources. It will be the beginning of an off-grid energy century, where people no longer needs to buy electricity or fuel and become totally free from grid electricity and centralized power plants. Moreover, all these separated renewable energy sources, combined with HBank storage systems, can be connected into one energy network under one central control system.

First successful solar hydrogen system on earth

HBank Technology has been collaborating with Taiwan Power Company and has successfully initiated the first Renewable Hydrogen Energy System by integrating metal hydride storages into the system. This system has already been operating for four years since year 2005. The concept of this “solar/wind – hydrogen fuel” system is based on converting renewable energy into hydrogen fuel and storing it in metal hydride storages. Hydrogen stored in metal hydrides is then used for producing electricity via PEM Fuel Cell when the power of renewable energy source is not able to support the loading.
