CUSTOM FUEL CELL ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS

HABCO provides custom designed assembly systems for the fuel cell industry. Pictured here is an ultra clean glove box type assembly station for filling and final assembly of a KOH type cell stack. The system featured polished 316 Stainless Steel construction with Lexan™ viewing windows and access doors.

The KOH Stack Assembly System maintained a constant controlled atmosphere for stack assembly. Integral HVAC equipment provided a constant temperature / humidity environment while maintaining CO2 levels to <50 PPM.

Assembly stations included cell preheat, electrolyte deposition, baking station and interim cell storage. The electrolyte deposition station was fully computer controlled and featured a weigh scale and x-y gantry type robot to fill process to better then 0.1% by weight.

Computer monitoring assured precise tracking of each cell plate along with the exact process conditions during assembly.
