ISO 9000 Quality Certified

Our Quality Mission Statement: "The Management and employees of Habco commit ourselves to producing a superior product for our customers on all levels: cost, workmanship, functionality, dependability, timely delivery and reliable service."

Why Comply?

Many equipment manufacturers, including some of our competitors, choose not to undertake the process of becoming ISO 9001certified. They claim that their system is "compliant" with ISO intentions and therefore needs no objective third party accreditation. What they mean to say is that they do not want to undertake the hard but necessary process of analyzing their current system to see what changes could be made. Because of this, they do not want an outside party to judge their system against others.

Commitment to continuous quality improvement at all levels of an organization should be the top priority of any company's management. A company should not only be willing to undertake the rigorous process of quality auditing, but should be open to the accountability of having their system approved by an objective quality auditor.

In 1997, Habco made a commitment to obtain ISO 9001 and AS9000 certification in response to general industry demands for accountability in the area of quality control. An outside consulting firm was hired to audit our existing program and modify those sections required to bring us in full compliance.

The yearlong process of becoming certified identified many needs in all areas of the company, and brought to light new ways of streamlining processes and procedures for better clarity and control. We also identified and enacted the need for comprehensive training which ensures that employees will continue to gain the knowledge they need to do their jobs better.

In July of 1998, Habco received ISO 9901 and AS9000 certification by LRQA, Llyod's Registrar of Quality Assurance. We have recently passed our first surveillance audit in January 1999 which ensures our compliance into the year 2000.

In the future, Habco will strive to remain a leader in "certification" to, not just "compliance" with, new quality standards.
