CNN is including a profile of Green Motorsport

CNN is including a profile of Green Motorsport in its “Global Challenges” feature which will be broadcast in primetime all over the world. The profile of Green Motorsport will appear in the next edition on Sunday 20th March and will be replayed on three consecutive Sundays, on March 27th, April 3rd and 10th.

The Green Motorsport electric racing kart will be driven by Becky-Beth Cox, one of the UK’s most promising young female racing drivers and Ross Curnow, who has been selected by the British Racing Drivers’ Club as one of its ‘Rising Stars’ and has just been presented with the 2004 Formula BMW UK Rookie Championship. Ross is passionate about green electric racing karts and is the Patron of Green Motorsport’s planned series of races powered by clean, renewable energy.

The filming will take place on Wednesday 9th March at Green Motorsport’s grounds in Woking as well as Sandown Park, which features a 900 metre pro-karting circuit, located within the picturesque horse racing course in Esher, Surrey.

Green Motorsport’s electric racing kart will be powered by renewable energy. This will be supplied partly by solar panels on the roof of the Green Motorsport transporter, which we plan to supplement with electricity from a 5 kW fuel cell provided by the London Hydrogen Partnership which will enable us to charge the kart and demonstrate the technology. A British portable hydrogen fuel cell system will also be used to power the lap timing equipment and visual display units. The Green Motorsport transporter has an array of BP solar panels and we plan to supplement this and meet further energy demands with a micro wind turbine. Companies who wish to participate by sponsoring equipment for the Green Motorsport racing series need to approach us immediately if they wish to be included in our press coverage which is now being prepared.
