WORLD CHANGING OVER TO GREEN VEHICLES!

The New Automotive Innovation Growth Team (NAIGT) which is sponsored by the UK Government, has made proposals for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which will help to meet European targets for new passenger cars. There will be increasing penalties for emitting carbon dioxide but low-carbon vehicles will gain ‘super credits’ which will favour electric vehicles. NAIGT recommends that a joint industry/UK Government Automotive Council should be set up to provide cash based as well as tax based incentives to encourage the introduction of low carbon vehicles.

Although the UK Government has announced £100m to support the introduction of electric vehicles, the green recovery won’t happen by itself said George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor. We all want to see more electric cars on the road, but the Government is doing too little to create a national network of car charging points, so that motorists can actually drive their new electric car around the country.

Weaning America Off Gasoline !

In America, ten of the world’s largest auto manufacturers joined President Barack Obama at the White House when he announced an historic agreement for America to break its dependence on oil. The United States creates roughly a quarter of the world's demand for oil. This comes at a tremendous price, with gas prices soaring and the climate changing, as sea levels rise, and droughts spread, forest burns, and storms rage.

The President deplored the lack of action over past decades which had made America so dependent upon oil to power its transport. He said that at this time of crisis in our auto industry they must prepare to build the cars of the 21st century. The fact is that everyone wins. Consumers pay less for fuel, the economy as a whole runs more efficiently by using less oil and producing less pollution and auto companies have new incentives to create the technologies and the jobs that will provide smarter ways to power our vehicles.

Green MotorSports engine replacement.

Designed to be mass produced, cost effective and suitable for almost every road going vehicle, the GMS Dual Power Train is an economical electric drive system that replaces the internal combustion engine in vehicles. Our latest highly efficient drive trains are suitable for a range of applications.

Green MotorSport supplies two main types of electric power trains; the M1 single motor (above) and the Dual drive system. Each power train uses our core M1 liquid cooled motor technology, and is supplied in kit form with a 48 Volt 350 amp controller or a 650 amp sports control system, depending on the performance required.

The drive is programmed with our unique encrypted software platform which ensures smooth power delivery. The dual drive is capable of producing 70 HP peak using protected planetary gearing configuration designed to provide efficient power delivery to the vehicle's wheels without the need for inefficient geared differentials.

Green MotorSport Leads

Green Motorsport and our partners foresaw the need for vehicles powered by renewable energy and we have worked for the past ten years to develop and bring to market our efficient electric drive train. We knew that this technology would be needed when oil prices started to rise and people began to understand the damage caused by air pollution and climate change. Gordon Foat of Green MotorSport completed his thesis on air pollution more than a decade ago. The study was called The effects of hedges as barriers to the dispersal of particulate emissions from vehicles and can be found in the Kingston University library. The study also concentrated on the environmental impact of car emission particulates on health and the environment. A series of tests suggested car emissions were causing substantial pollution to air and soil. A green motor sport racing series powered from clean technologies was proposed to demonstrate that it was possible to reduce the effects of automotive emissions and develop these technologies further. Currently the project is active but is waiting for funding to run a professional electric kart race series with Formula Kart Stars.

Children suffering from traffic pollution

Donnache McCarthy eco expert investigates how “Green” Green MotorSport is and comes up with some surprising results in London.

The BBC has reported that recent studies find many children in urban areas are suffering from reduced lung function, apparently caused by traffic pollution. Prof Barbara Maher at Lancaster University said that we are surrounded by an invisible mist of millions of toxic particulates. The concentrations are worse at lower levels where they are breathed in by children than those officially recorded by air quality monitoring stations at a height of three meters. Prof Jonathan Grigg of the Centre for Paediatrics at Barts explained that microscope analysis shows how minute particulates, known as PM10s, are reaching deep into the lungs. Most of the country’s major conurbations fail to meet European Union air quality standards.

Bath and West Show

Green MotorSport was awarded 2nd prize in this year’s sustainable transport competition at the Royal Bath and West Show. The Green MotorSport Wisper is featured here with Annunziata Rees-Mogg. The Rosette was presented to Gordon Foat by Lady Cameron. The show was also visited by HRH Prince Charles.
