The team behind www.FuelCellMarkets.com launch new initiative – www.LowCarbonEconomy.com - an interactive website created to assist the transition to a global low carbon economy, by connecting people and businesses with relevant low carbon information, products, services, opportunities - and each other.
The website is aimed at mainstream business and consumer audiences with an interest in environmental technologies and solutions.
Toddington Harper, Managing Director states: “There is an urgent global requirement to reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. The message has successfully got through to both businesses and consumers and the will to act is strong and increasing - however it is not always clear what the most appropriate courses of action are, particularly as goalposts are often changing... We created the website www.LowCarbonEconomy.com to help people and businesses connect with low carbon information and solutions which are relevant to them. It is a continually evolving site with a strong emphasis on community interaction, sharing information and encouraging debate - as a result the site aims to stay up-to-date and in-line with current perceptions and trends.”
The website is still early on in its development but aims to cover all aspects of a low carbon economy, from the issues surrounding climate change, the methodologies of reducing, reusing and recycling, and the solutions such as energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy conversion devices, low carbon transport, fuels, offsetting, sequestration etc.
It relies on the community to generate much of its content and aims to have a depth of information for each relevant subject area. Site users are also able to create new subject areas where necessary. Registration is free for both individuals and companies. It is then free to add discussions, tips, links, resources and glossary descriptions. Companies can also add sponsored content such as products, services, opportunities, press releases, jobs, projects and events.
There are a variety of ways to search for information in the site from keywords, to text searches, and even graphical searches (i.e. domestic or commercial).

We hope you like the site. We appreciate that we are at the start of a long road, but believe that the resource we have created has the potential to be an extremely useful tool in the fight against climate change, energy security, and resource efficiency.
