The HySyLab Project was launched in April 2002. It is a common project of Environment Park, Gruppo SAPIO, Politecnico do Torino, GTT (former ATM) Torino and Provincia di Torino with the support of Regione Piemonte and Commune di Torino.
It started out from a first investment of € 2,7 million, cofinanced by the Fondo Europeo di Svlluppo Regionale (70%). HySyLab was offically opened in June 2003 before the Nobel Price Carlo Rubbia and the Regione Piemonte President Enzo Ghingo.
Applications
- Testing of the different components of a PEM cell
- Testing of PEM single cells
- Testing of PEM fuel cell stack
- Testing of power system
- Test bench for fuel cell-electric load energy chain
System Integration
Design, development and realization of integrated systems for electrical and thermal energy generation including hydrogen generation units (by electrolysis or reforming), hydrogen storage, electrical energy generation with fuel cell technology, power conditioning and control system on different power units.
Training
Training courses concerning the whole hydrogen chain: production, storage and application. Courses based on theory and practical activities (for example: test of a 10 kWe natural gas reformer, test of PEM single cells and of 3,5 kWe PEM fuel cell stack). Training courses addressed to company technical staff and to teachers of every school level.
