IMM sees itself as a pathfinder in microtechnology. Since it was founded in 1990, IMM has established itself as an internationally recognised service organisation for research and development in microtechnology. The sole shareholder is the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

As a partner for industrial companies and research institutions, we concentrate our activities on developing microdevices and systems for our customer's specific needs. Benefiting from this are companies from the fields of chemicals and pharmaceuticals, personal care, life sciences, medical technology, automation, energy production, automotive engineering, communications technology, and aeronautical and space technology. Our interdisciplinary teams of experts work out innovative solutions in close co-operation with the customer.

Competence and a flair for new fields of application in microtechnology as well as a unique technology base enable us to repeatedly set technological milestones, which open up market opportunities and new areas of business for our customers.

Indicative of the commercial implementation of the results of our developments are the companies founded by former IMM employees. These are creating more high-tech jobs in Rhineland Palatinate.
