Adelan Ltd is a small solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) “spin out” company originating from the materials research developments from Birmingham and Keele Universitys. Started in 1996 with a UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) SMART award, Adelan is progressively establishing itself as the UK’s leading SOFC SME under the scientific guidance of Professor Kevin Kendall [FRS]. Since it’s conception, Adelan has developed IPRs towards a range of products. Adelan’s principal novel contribution to the SOFC industry is a tubular fuel cell unit design, from which modular full-scale units can be built according to power requirements.
