The brightest hope for new forms of energy is the fuel-cell battery, and Toagosei's researchers are enthusiastically pursuing the development of a new type of fuel-cell battery under the guidance of researchers from the University of Tokyo. The immediate target is to produce a battery capable of powering small portable electronic devices such as notebook computers. Currently, research is being focused principally on methanol-fueled batteries employing micro-porous electrolysis membranes. We have already developed a product that shows superior performance in terms of both power output and cost.
