 | Overview | The Alberta Research council (ARC) develops and commercializes technologies to give customers a competitive advantage. A Canadian leader in innovation. ARC provides solutions globally to the energy, life sciences, agriculture, environment, forestry and manufacturing sectors. ARC works with more than 800 clients each year. Fuel Cell R&D: The unit is developing the design and manufacturing process for high surface area micro solid-oxide tubular fuel cell. ARC has six patent applications related to SOFC fabrication, current collection, stack design and other design elements. These patent applications characterize a design with low thermal mass and high thermal shock resistance Applied expertise: ARC's advanced Materials business unit develops and commercializes new materials, products, and processing technologies in ceramics, metals and polymers and composites. Our technologies include polymer nanocomposites, polymer membranes, thermoplastic pultrusion, ceramic and ceramic composites for structural and functional application, hollow ceramic membranes, composite ceramic coatings, micro-solid oxide fuel cells, and solar energy systems.
