Our fuel cell labs are up and running and technologists from around the country are taking advantage of the new facilities.

The Tees Valley is an excellent base for a facility like this with the infrastructure and expertise in place thanks to the region’s historical links with the chemical industry. Hydrogen is produced in significant quantities, much of it as a by-product of the manufacturing activities.

Through CPI, the Tees Valley now has a large cluster of working fuel cells in the community and one day it will be perfectly normal to have a fuel cell in your house where the boiler used to be.

The CPI team has grown from strength to strength with excellent facilities in the form of two development and testing labs. Fuel cells are one of the most promising choices for future green energy and the work we are involved with will help to exploit this potential to the full.
