Zinc air batteries

Zinc air batteries are already a market worth over $400m per annum.

Zinc air batteries are an existing market

They have excellent power density - up to twice as good as lithium ion batteries- but are not rechargeable. The largest current application is for hearing aids. There is also ongoing research to try to make a rechargeable zinc air battery.

HYPERMEC cathode well suited to zinc air application

A variant of Acta's HYPERMEC cathode also offers good potential for use in the zinc air battery market. Customer trials are underway with encouraging results.
