Hydrogen from ammonia

Acta has filed patent applications relating to its ammonia electrolyser catalyst and the alkaline membrane system in which it can be used.

Ammonia electrolysers offer unique and exciting benefits:

• Room temperature hydrogen generation, allowing instant start
• Low electrical input: net power from a fuel cell / electrolyser combination
• Zero emissions: no CO2 emitted at point of use
• Use of a practical liquid fuel already in very widespread use

Acta has trials underway with a major customer and is confident of rolling out to broader applications in the future.

Acta manufactures the catalyst for the electrolyser, but is also closely involved with the development of the structure of the electrolyser with its associated intellectual property.
