Solar Energy Centre signs Landmark Agreement with Tianwei New Energy Group

Solar Energy Centre (a subsidiary of SEC Industrial Battery Company Ltd) today announced a pioneering supply partnership with Tianwei New Energy Group (TWNE), commencing with a Q1 supply contract of 20MWp of Tianwei Photovoltaic Modules.

This announcement follows a hugely successful year for SEC in 2010, supplying major projects across Europe with high quality, bankable PV modules. Now established as the preferred module supplier for many installers and EPC contractors in mainland Europe, SEC’s Directors continue to take an innovative approach towards module supply, leveraging economies of scale and passing benefits onto SEC customers in the form of lower prices.

Tianwei New Energy Group commented on the new partnership: “Due to SEC’s long 34 year history in the Solar Energy Marketplace together with their strong customer base, global network of offices, agents, contacts and local representatives in more than 65 countries, Tianwei look forward to a highly successful partnership with Solar Energy Centre”

Although market reports differ, it is estimated that the total UK market in 2010 was 40-50MWp. As such, SEC’s 20MWp order makes it one of the largest single publicised orders from a UK company, and a sign of SEC’s confidence and commitment to the UK solar PV market.

Brian Harper, International Sales Director explained: “during our long history in the solar PV market we have seen the transition into a commodity based market, with installers, understandably, demanding the most competitive pricing from an ever-growing choice of suppliers. With Sharp, Tianwei, and our Own MCS Accredited brand, SEC have completed our solar PV module range, and our centralised buying power brings economies of scale to play, to offer transparent best-in-class pricing for our customers, minimal risk, and direct access to a secure supply chain.”

SEC welcome the opportunity to discuss PV module requirements from potential new customers.
