Wallingford, Conn. (May 5, 2010) – Proton Energy Systems, the global hydrogen leader, today was honored with this year’s National Hydrogen Association (NHA) Special Member Award. The award recognizes a specific NHA member organization for a remarkable achievement and/or valuable contribution to the implementation of hydrogen as an alternative fuel.

The NHA has selected Proton Energy Systems, as it has provided exemplary leadership within the association. Specifically, Proton Energy Systems has demonstrated a successful business model for emerging market hydrogen small businesses to follow, established capabilities globally as a supplier of hydrogen systems to the power plant industry, introduced the Proton Energy Scholarship, provided scholarship funding for high school seniors enrolling in college for majors leading to careers in hydrogen and fuel cell technology, and is helping to develop an east coast hydrogen highway with SunHydro.
