 WSW Engineering S.R.O.
In June 2010, the first two series production Energy Cells were sold to WSW Engineering S.R.O., a Fronius International sales partner in the Czech Republic. One of the Energy Cells is being used at the company‘s development centre and the other for demonstration purposes at the Czech sales site of SOLAR CENTER a.s. During the development, experts will simulate a photovoltaic system and use the fuel cell to analyse the system as a whole.
It is hoped that the system will be within the reach of the general public in the coming years, allowing society as a whole to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. „The sale of the first Fronius Energy Cells means that unlimited, independent power generation has become a reality. We believe in progress“, was the shared view expressed by Jakub Janda and solar pioneer and Fronius Managing Director Klaus Fronius.
 Centre for renewable energy in Sulechów
In January 2011, a stationary Fronius Energy Cell 25F was installed at the centre for renewable energy, which is currently under construction, at the technical university in Sulechów, Poland. Engineers specialising in alternative energy technology will in future be trained at the university. For this reason, a laboratory has been built for the students as part of an EU development programme. In addition to the Fronius Energy Cell, the laboratory will also contain a thermal pump, a microturbine, a photovoltaic system and wind generators. The decision to choose the Fronius Energy Cell can be attributed to the involvement of Polhaus, the Polish system integrator, which has long been a customer of Fronius. In July 2010, the system integrator attended the first seminar on the Fronius Energy Cell and was immediately impressed by the innovative product.
 University of Geneva
The first TÜV Süd certified Fronius Energy Cell was successfully commissioned by the University of Geneva in February 2009. The customer was Professor Klaus Yvon. Muntwyler, a Fronius sales partner in Switzerland, installed the entire system. The TÜV certificate provides purchasers with a major benefit: it simplifies the system approval and commissioning process with the relevant authorities. Without the certificate, users would normally also be obliged to have the safety features verified by an independent third party. Fronius saves its customers time and money.
 Enersis d.o.o. energy systems
Long-term Fronius photovoltaic inverter partner, Enersis d.o.o., purchased the first Fronius Energy Cell in Slovenia for an energy-independent container installation. Wind and photovoltaics are the sources of energy. The Fronius Energy Cell guarantees a back-up power supply around the clock. The energy-independent container was installed as a reference system for potential users at the Enersis site in Maribor. Customers from the road building sector, together with construction companies and even aid organisations, have already expressed an interest. |
