Senior Ceramic Processing Engineer |

NexTech is engaged in a number of development programs that aim to demonstrate novel solid oxide fuel cell and component technologies within a variety of stack and system concepts.
The successful applicant will lead process development for the fabrication of solid oxide fuel cell components with specific focus on tubular components. Job responsibilities will include:

Perform critical experiments to validate research concepts and demonstrate processing feasibility.

Optimize experimental processes and interpret experimental data

Document, standardize and take ownership of QA/QC issues

Communicate results and improvements through written reports and oral presentations

Investigate, recommend and implement methods to improve quality and reduce costs during scale up of processes required to meet product volume demand.

Manage costs and resource utilization while achieving project goals

Transition experimental processes to a manufacturing team

Train and manage a team of 2-4 technical personnel
Critical qualifications include a B.S. or M. S. in Materials or Ceramic Engineering, and experience (5+ years) in industrial ceramic fabrication, with particular preference for prior experience in extrusion, casting and coatings technologies. Self-motivated candidates with strong communication skills are preferred.
Specifically, technical experience and qualification will include:

BS or MS degree in Materials Science / Engineering or related field

A minimum of 5 years industrial hands-on ceramic processing experience

Experience with SOFC or electro-ceramic materials wet processing using extrusion, tape casting, and screen printing.

Familiarity with characterization techniques for SOFC and other advanced electro-ceramic materials

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency preferred
