Advent Technologies Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEA) for High Temperatures PEM fuel cells

Advent Technologies high temperature (150oC-200oC) MEA technology is based on proprietary PBI free TPS polymer electrolytes. TPS technology is cheaper than the competition, allows the use of fuels with high CO content, reduces the complexity of the fuel system and leads to a reduced cost final PEM system.

Advent TPS MEA Characteristics

  • Long term stability (>1000 hrs) with no degradation
  • Non humidified gases
  • Operation temperature 150-200oC

MEA performance

  • Temperature: 180 oC, 200 oC
  • Ambient pressure Feed: H2/O2
  • Anode: 1.2
  • Cathode: 2.0
  • Electrode area: 25 cm2

Operational stability

  • Temperature: 150 oC
  • Cell Voltage: 0.5 V
  • Ambient pressure Feed: H2/O2
  • Anode: 1.2
  • Cathode: 2.0
  • Electrode area: 25 cm2

Thermal cycling – 100 cycles test with no degradation

  • Excellent oxidative stability
  • Low cost
  • High conductivity (6*10 -2 S/cm)
  • Thermal stability (>400 oC)
  • Very good mechanical properties (Tg ~ 280 oC)

  • Advent TPS possess excellent oxidative stability after Fenton reagent treatment.
