CanDan UPS and NT Fuel Cell System Development and Pilot Testing

Dantherm Power participates in the Canadian-Danish Joint Fuel Cell Initiative ”CanDan UPS&NT”.

The objective of the project is to develop a generic 2-10kW fuel cell system and perform pilot testing of this in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and 7 Niche Transport (NT) applications in both Denmark and Canada.

The Project has the following specific objectives:

  1. Developing a generic 2 to 10kWe Fuel Cell System that meets the price target in mass production at DKK 30.000 per kWe ultimo 2008.
  2. Do pilot testing of the Fuel Cell systems in the following Danish applications with focus on lifetime and reliability: a) Pilot testing in UPS applications at EnergiMidt A/S. b) Pilot testing in 7 Niche transport vehicles at Vestas, Ringkobing/Skjern kommune, Hvide Sande Auktion, GolfClub StorAen and Klosterhedens Statsskovsdistrikt. C
  3. ontinue the project in later international developing- and demonstration projects in order to enable and get additional cost reduction and increased lifetime and reliability: a) Demonstration of Danish UPS and NT Fuel Cell Systems in relation to the upcoming Olympic winter games in Vancouver Canada in 2010 as a part of the CanDan Initiative and Canadian Hydrogen Highway. b) Demonstration of the NT Fuel Cell Systems in a Scandinavian EU lighthouse demonstration project in 2010 in connection with the Scandinavian Highway Partnership.
